Am I the only one who is emotionally attached to...

Am I the only one who is emotionally attached to things I bought? Like I have great difficulty in selling things I've purchased for example the laptop I'm currently typing on (PIII). It may or may not be "emotionally attached" but I find it difficult to sell things unless they aren't mine. I've got a Rage 128Pro AIW in my closet with box+cables and even the friggen baggies but I'm hesistant to sell it...

I tend to kiss my finger and touch it to my car stereos faceplate whenever it plays music after I mess with speakers or amps, that's about it.

Is that the finger that reminds you of your sister?

^^Pwn...
I kinda am, but not a lot. I was to my telescope, since when I looked through that baby for the first time and saw the moon so clearly and close...Now I'm sellin it so I can buy a digital camcorder for my senior project/interim trip to Gulport, MS, and senior class trip to Orlando...

Yes

I could understand being attached to an Aston Martin DB series😉, or even a house you have lived in for a long time, but PC equipment...come on.

You know...I thought I was weird because I'm the same way. I actually think about the fate of stuff I throw away and sometimes I feel bad...especially if it's something I've used for a while.

Might need therapy 🙁

I don't know what's up with me, but I'm especially fixed to my car. I don't think I'm going to get a new one unless it totally dies.

There's only one thing I've owned worth me caring about, which is my PC. It's my first PC I bought with my own money (Thank you dad for hand-me-downs!) I don't think anything from this PC will ever leave my posession.

What happens if parts like the CMOS battery or the PSU die? How about the HDD? Will you replace those?

Well. Those are expendable 😛

Not with computer stuff usually since it all changes so fast...with my audio equipment I become quite attached...and for some reason, I can't seem to get rid of some magazines. I keep thinking that they'll contain helpful information later on down the road...

Just yesterday I was cleaning the storage room and opened a box with a complete year of Nintendo Power from 1995...oh the memories.

I think I'm attached to my car... subconsciously.
Often I have bad dreams about it getting wrecked or stolen when I leave it parked.
Despite the fact that I really don't worry about that IRL.

I'm not attached to computer stuff, but I do end up feeling bad when I don't use some of the things that I own for awhile. I feel like my possessions are sad that they're not being chosen. If I don't use something, I don't mind selling it (for the most part), so it can go to someone who will love it more. 😀

Yes... for that reason, I have not changed my underwear even once since putting it on. Ninja Turtles tightie whities FTW!

Not me.

I hate to have working / usable items go to the landfill though, because of the waste. I've recycled working 14" and 15" monitors in the last year since no one wants little tube monitors.

Yeah, monitors aren't really wanted by people especially monitors that small. How were you able to go about recycling those monitors?

Here in the Seattle area it's eco-freak country so the cities have collection events twice a year, and my city (Bellevue) now has curbside recycling of monitors and TVs up to 21".

Staples has also had electronics collection for recycling here.

I am attached to my truck. I've owned it since 92 (it's a 90). I just spent roughly three grand repairing and repainting it.

Here's a pic of what it looks like today. Text

I'm the opposite, I think. I just gave a friend one of my digital camers and another (today) my PDA.
