Am I the only one who is disappointed in AT right now?

Is this anything like the lack of creativity that you see around here?

The name "So" for instance, its just so imaginative. Only a true genius and visionary could come up with such an original screen name for a tech forum.
 
also got to remember that many on ATOT do not have any orginal thoughts.

They see something a few people have done then beat it into the ever loving ground. Take the pengiun crap its everywhere. Same as the russia jokes etc.

also get tired of the parody threads. there are already what 3 of them about this?

Im out of it, I had never seen the whole penguin thing until h mentioned it in this thread


This place is turning into slashdot, where every post, thread, comment is meant to get attention and try to make people think you are funny or witty, or deep. Its such BS, I cant read ANY of the !@#$@! comments on that site because everyone STRAINS SO HARD just to get a laugh or a snicker.... people post on here for attention.... some also post for help, but that is turning into a majority

I don't think the general level has decreased, just the lurkers are coming out from their rocks assuming they know it all.

I love my latest responses. People trying so hard to back a comeback, then they clarify it as if no one will get it anyway.

OT = stupidity, but other places generally is better for tech support. This place may be getting too popular for its own good though 🙁
 
Every 3 months someone new has to post "ATOT isn't the same" or "ATOT is going downhill" or "This forum is such crap now". Ive seen these posts since I first started coming here. Personally, I don't think a LOT has changed. Sure some people are gone, we have new ones... but overall not a whole lot has changed IMO.
 
It started goind downhill about the time some putz decided to post a thread like this, and it's been degrading steadily ever since, as these threads get posted at leas tonce a week.

I agree. Too many people post things that are just ridiculous. I don't see how people can believe stuff like this, but there are a lot of fools around. I've had people tell me that the SR-71 can take off vertically, or that they've seen one drop a tank from a parachute. There are just a lot of really stupid people out there that love to "share their knowledge".

The worst is when you're the type of person who likes to learn the details and you encounter someone who'd rather watch MTV all day and post on internet forums all night. They just pollute the web with their garbage.

There was a time when the internet was more elitist. If you didn't know a lot about computers you probably couldn't get on the web or didn't even hear about it. But AOL destroyed that.

Are you serious? If I wanted real technical specifics about variable field stresses on the fuselage of an aircraft that are generated during hypersonic flight I would have posted this question on some aeronautical board full of PhDs.

HELLO! This is OT. Free to express our opinons with as much or as little backing as we see fit because odds are some pimply 13 year old will call you and your e-penis out if you don't back your statement up...

So some people believe in aliens, so what? It's their right. And hey more power to them I may not share their views, but at least they're willing to think outside the norm and question what if.
