Am I the only one who doesn't like turkey?

Me and my vegan buddies get together every Thanksgiving and make tofu turkey. We mash up and puree tofu and mix it with mash potatos. Then we mold it into the shape of a cooked turkey with all veggie stuffings. Good times

I don't know whether folk who don't like turkey are stupid or genetically different. I have heard that things don't taste the same to everybody and that, therefore, taste is more than subjective. I have also heard that if you taste something you don't like over and over you will learn to like it. I know something like that worked for me. But I really don't know because I can't get out of my genotype and explore.

That's called tofurkey

I only like turkey in sandwiches. Turkey on thanksgiving either comes out dry or much too heavy (sits in your stomach like a rock). I'm sure it's good when someone actually knows how to prep it.

I don't really like turkey, but I don't mind it. Never been a big fan of thanksgiving dinner in general really. Mashed potatoes/sweet potatoes and the cranberry/apple/granola thing my fam makes are delish, but turkey and stuffing just doesn't do it for me.

Cooking a turkey and not drying it out isn't that hard. Jeez.

First, don't buy the biggest fucking turkey you can find. If you need to feed a lot of people, consider multiple birds. Second, brine the fucker(s). Third, bring to room temp before sticking it in the oven. Slather with butter and whatever seasonings you like, throw some citrus in the cavity, and put it in the high heat. When it starts to brown, drop the temp until done. By done, I mean whatever temperature you're comfortable with at the thighs. A little pink by the bone doesn't bother me at all.
