Am i the only one who doesn't like coming home for christmas?

I'm in college living in the dorms and right now I'm home for christmas for a little over 2 weeks.

- I brought my computer home, but wasn't able to lug my 19" Samsung monitor so I am stuck right now on a 15" Viewsonic 🙁
- I'm stuck using my old Altec Lansing ACS56 speakers. Fine computer speakers, but nothing compared to my $2k Paradigm setup 🙁 Music sounds like its being played from a tin can in comparison.
- I'm bored as heck and don't have any of my 80+ DVDs here to watch
- Miss my friends (the friends i made at school seem better than any friends i've made in the past)
- Miss my girlfriend (who i met at school)...won't see her to the very end of holidays. she's out of town visiting family for the holidays
- My old friends from home are all busy or just don't want to hang out
- I'm fighting with my sister already!
- Any cool stuff I have is back at school...my room at home is empty

Sure I'd like to be with family on christmas...but I'd rather be home just for a few days right at christmas. Thankfully I'm going to someone's at new years eve (a friend from college).

This sucks! At least I have LOTR coming out in a couple days...once that is out I can just see it a bunch to kill time.

Does anyone else feel the same? I hope I get a job right out of college because I don't want to live at home anymore!

I feel exactly the same, actually, which is why at 4:21pm, 2 days after my last exam, I am still 'packing' for my trip home.

Well I am out of college now (graduated last year) but I know what you mean. It was great living off campus because it meant that I could delay going home to the last minute and come right back when I felt like it.
 
I decided to be nice and showed up yesterday instead of Thurs...was going to wait til then to see LOTR with the bf, but we're going to see it after we both get back

I'm sitting here wondering what I'm going to do until Christmas eve (at least there's stuff to do on Christmas eve and Christmas day), now. There's a new mall in Tampa, but already went yesterday and today. Basically I think I'll probably sit on ATOT 🙂 And thank god for that AT&T unlimited nights and weekends! My bf is on the other coast of FL, blah.

Going back at 6am on Dec 26 😉
 
Well....there are pros and cons to it just like everything else.

Here, cable modem, high preformance computer, 75 channels on tv, dvd player, etc

at home, 56k modem, only decent computer will be the laptop i'm gonna bring with me, 30 channels on tv, most of them french, only vcr

but hey....it's family. I'll try and keep my sanity by doing some linux programming on my laptop when i'm there hehehe.

partying with friends from back home will also help.

tech toys is maybe 5% of it. maybe i should've emphasized the girlfriend part more. ok maybe 10% 😉

About your problem though. How old is your sister in comparison to you? The reason I ask is because you might be able to setup a holiday party. Also, be prepared to find chicks from your high school that are a year or so behind. I mean, you're a college guy now and you might be able to get some play over the holiday....ESPECIALLY around New Year's. Set up some dates before and after and see what happens. Also, be as outgoing as you can. I mean, you'll be back in college and people tend to forget about you when you're not around so use this chance to approach people you wouldn't normally approach. So....recap on the possibilities:

1. HOLIDAY PARTY WITH AS MANY OF SISTER'S FRIENDS AS POSSIBLE (as long as they're of decent age and sexiness)
2. HOLIDAY DATES WITH HIGH SCHOOL CHICKS (Ho Ho Ho)
3. HOLIDAY BAR-HOPPING (be sure to use the "I'm from out of town" line....it'll help you score with the "no-strings-attached" gals)
4. CONSTANTLY REMIND GIRLS THAT YOU BELIEVE IT'S BETTER TO GIVE THAN RECEIVE (wink at them everytime you say it)

Funny post...but in all seriousness, I have a girlfriend and I'm crazy about her.

and second of all...my sister is only 16! I'm 19.

as for bar hopping...I plan on doing some if I can round up some friends. I already have big plans for new years eve so that should be good.

I just killed a bunch of time by finally finishing Return to Castle Wolfenstein...cool game! 🙂
 
I say enjoy yourself. At least you have free time. I have two tests and one project due this comming week.
