Am I the only one thinking this is a bit too much?

State District Judge Keith Dean ordered Frank Dorsett to serve two 180-day terms, drive a car with no more than 130 horsepower, carry a photo of the wreckage, take daily medication that will make him sick if he drinks alcohol and put a bumper sticker on his vehicle asking other motorists to call the probation department if he's driving recklessly.

Yeah, he should be punished but I don't think all that is appropriate.

What do you think?
You're right, it's inappropriate. He should be run over by a truck.

I think that's a good idea. A bit light, if you ask me. Drunk drivers should be shot on sight.

I agree completely.

Might as well shoot stupid people too.

Drunk driving= choice that killed an innocent girl

Stupidity= not a choice

Need a drawing too?

Edited for clarity

I take it alcohol was a factor in the crash. Well I don't agree with the driving a car with < 130 HP and the alcohol restriction. I mean he can still kill someone with a car that does less than 130 HP right?

I think he should be require to ride a moter cycle with very low HP. That way when he decided to get involved in another accident he will be dead.

Gee...you're and idiot and you live in the wrong state if you feel that way.

Glad to see that ATOT readers still understand the concept of sarcasm....

Yes.

We need more "real life" punishments like this.

He should instead take medication that will kill him if he drinks alcohol again.
Driving drunk alone should warrant a good bit of jail time. Killing someone while drunk - despicable. I'd say life in prison, but all you do then is suck up taxpayer money for the rest of your miserable life. Might as well do society a favor, and make sure the person isn't any more of a burden or danger to anyone ever again.

Considering the charges (manslaughter, aggravated assault and hit-and-run) I have no idea how the fvck the jury let him off with probation, especially if alcohol was involved. Nice to see the judge saw fit to throw on some extra for him.

The way I read it his car wasn't directly involved in the accident.
It sounds to me like he and another car were participating in a road rage chase when the other vehicle went out of control and hit a third car, killing the 16yr old girl in it.
Maybe that's why they let him off.
I don't agree with probation for felony failure to render aid and felony manslaughter and certainly don't think the judge's sentence was in any way too much.

If he has to serve 180 days in three-day increments at holidays, he's going to be thinking about this for a long time. At the rate of 11 federal holidays times 3 days each holiday = 33 days per year for about 5 1/2 years.
