yeah since thats exactly why people don't like it! not the fact that watching people run, jump etc is boreing. or the fact that most o fit is taped on a 24 hour deley so we get the results in the paper and people prefer to watch it live. or hell the sports the really want to watch are not even televised!

no no none of that could be it. its the fact they can't do 5 kneww pushups or run up a flight of stairs.

I can appericate the event and what it signfies and represents, but I won't watch it... at least not after opening ceremonies.

No, there is at least one thread like this every time they hold the olympics.

I care about the olympics. I have a general interest in sports, and I enjoy seeing the top athletes in the world compete against each other.

I always think I don't care and then I happen to catch an event on TV and get all wrapped up in it.

So I don't care right now, but probably will once they actually start.

Wow I am surprised. They are like the second biggest sport event to the world cup. The Olympics is history.

Most umans don't like the olympics, it was just bred into them. They have no REAL emotions for the olympics, it's just bred in by the umans who made it.

I'll probably watch a few events. I dun care about tennis or 'soccer'. I wouldn't care if the world was void of those sports but to each their own.

This is nerd central mostly populated by those who never broke a sweat in any athletic endeavor. Come on, is it a surprise some pasty geek named Linux23 couldn't give a shit about it? They have different priorities, that's all.

I love the Olympics. One of the few times I get to watch Track & Field on national TV. Gymnastics, T&F, swimming, boxing, wrestling, And it's in HD!!

What I hate are the tape delay (the 24 hr tape delay from a recent Olympics was particularly annoying), the "human interest" stories in between the events, and the skipping of events where Americans won't win a medal. I.E. I hate how NBC has been airing them recently. It used to be just a sporting event. Now, it's a drama/reality TV.

With regards the "helmet" crack: From what I understand, boxing in the olympics is more about pure skill, not knocking the other guy out.

I can;t stomach the NBC coverage, it's absolutely brutal.

Thankfully up here we get CBC coverage that is really top notch and they show pretty much everything. When the Olympics come around they essentially take over the entire network, plus it will be in HD this year.

Anymore generalizations you want to make about me although you've never met me?

LOL, I played football in high school, so yeah, I never broke a sweat.

I thought it was a uman characteristic. I've lost all hope in umankind.
