Am I the only one here with an MSI 6337 i815e PRO? I'm having some cpu bus weirdness

This board has jumpers to set the cpu bus, I have mine set to 133->100 with the cpu bus set to 137 (memory at 103) so the cpu is at 960mhz.

every once in a while on a restart it wont go, just a black screen before the video bios should show and the monitor goes to sleep.

when this happens I have to set the cpu bus back to auto with the jumpers and restart, power down reset to 133->100 and then it boots fine at 960 again.

I have done this enough times that I took a couple of cd audio cables and plugged them in to the six pin jumper block with the leads sticking out the front of the case so I dont have to crawl around on the floor and open the case and screw with those tiny jumpers in a hard to reach spot.

With these leads I can "change the jumpers" to auto for the cpu bus, boot and verify settings in the bios, save and exit, power down, reset to 133->100 , and boot normally

I have a dipswitch with four switches on it that I am going to setup to control all the jumper combos from outside the case just by flipping the switch.

Anybody else with this board encounter this? maybe you did and thought like I did at first that the cpu cant handle the o/c , if so, try what I described and see if it works for you.

The cpu is Rock Stable and runs 24/7 with no problem, even after I tried to kill it by screwing an alpha pal35t directly to the cpu  but.....thats another story :)

Man I sure wish I can help you, but I guess I cant cause I dont got the board. Im dying to try out this great MSI motherboard, as soon as I got enough cash I will. Most people here have CUSL2, imo is not as good as 815EPro.

Slacker its not initilizing the video during post. I had this problem also. I just bumped the i/o voltage a little bit to 3.4 and its been running fine for me now. Another issue I had was a power manangment probem. When the pc returned from sleep mode the desktop was all corrupted. Adding a heatsink and small fan to the 815e chipsets cured that issue. I have been oc a p3700 cbo @1015 for two months with no problems. This 6337 has been the best mainboard I have ever owned by far.

Raincity: Its good to hear that, the only down side about 815EPro is the lack of northbridge heatsink(which you add it easily yourself anyway), everything else is just perfect, better than CUSL2.

Why would resetting the cpu bus to default fix it?

I think I set io to 3.4 already, I will check though, thanks!

I had a MSI 694D pro that would all by itself bump the CPU1's voltage from 1.65v to 2.00v all on its own without warning. This rig never could be run 24/7 because.
Hearing another MSI oddity with the bios? makes me wonder if u have a phantom bios like i had?
U may be as well RMA'ing it and see if the shop have the same problems.

That's weird, my old ABIT BH6 is having a very similar problem. The CPU is an old PIII-450 (not over-clocked) and the computer won't boot up until it has been running for 30 seconds or so (I have to turn the power on, wait a while, then press reset a couple of times) before I will get any output to the monitor. On top of that, I get a windows protection error about half the time when I actually get past the POST. Does anyone know what's going on? Would a BIOS update fix this?

I also have a question that no reviews seem to address. Can I use my old PIII-450 CPU with the new 815E motherboards using some type of Slocket adapter? If I have to replace my motherboard it will probably be with an 815E chipset but I won't be able to afford a new processor for a few months.
