Am I the only LOTR fan who HASN'T seen TTT yet?

Semi-inspired by Spooner's thread...I haven't seen this movie yet cuz I have no geek friends (all my friends hate LOTR and the like.) I hate seeing movies alone, esp. for three hours. I've had opportunities to see it with cousins over winter break but we were all so busy doing other things that we didn't really want to waste 3 hours in a theater.

Please tell me I'm not alone. I REALLY want to see this, not dreading it at all, just haven't been able to!

BTW, I live 5 minutes away from two 20+ megaplex stadium seating theaters with TTT playing every hour on the hour.

no
i haven't seen it yet

but i am an old guy with kids

the wife doesn't get babysitters very often, so we don't see too many movies

we will see TTT soon, maybe in february

I saw it by myself once because I had one of the free tickets that came with the 4-Disc DVD set - they expired 12/31 and I couldn't find anyone to go with me (I had already been once).

That was the first time I'd ever seen a movie alone, and it wasn't that bad because the movie is so good. It keeps your attention for the whole three hours.

It's not expensive if you go during the day. I went before 6pm on a Friday, and the price was $5cdn. That's like $3 of your dollars... haha. Regular price, no discount or anything. Refreshments are expensive as hell though. Screw that...

oh and yea i already saw it.

You BLEW IT!!! I was in the same boat, my friends won't watch it either. So X-mas day I dragged my bro and a few cousins to the theatres...it was snowing too (which was more reason to go). This was like my ONLY chance to see it before having to wait for the DVD, so I didn't let it get away 😛

don't worry though, it'll be out on DVD in about 6-8 months 😉

I haven't seen it. Didn't see the first one till it was out on DVD. Strongly considered not seeing it at all. I've read the books maybe 5 times.

if your a fan u should go see it.... the huge armies and fights should be seen on a big screen and theater sound...and im not talkign bout home theater.

I sure hope my HT sound is better than the theater!

Definitely see it in on the big screen unless you have a 52" widescreen plasma at home with killer surround speakers.
And who cares if people there think you are a loser with no friends. Just kidding.
I went by myself because my wife wouldn't go. She thought the first one was extremely boring. My married friends all went with their wives and my only single friends in town think LOTR is only for dungeons and dragons geeks.
Hmmm, maybe we need different friends.

I haven't seen the movie yet either. I loved the first movie, sure I'll love the second and about the fan part....I've read the damn book 23 times over the past 25 years. But I will eventually drag my butt to a theatre soon.

Random bump (just for you Amnesiac 2.0!)

Still haven't seen it...no longer in heavy rotation at local theaters...

I'm gonna try to hold out for the DVD now!!!

😎

Of course I wouldnt want to go alone, and didnt have to. But if it came down to it, I'd just go alone. It is worth seeing.

There are other ways that you could see it at this point, lets just say you dont have to wait for the DVD if you really really want it that bad....

There's only a few movies in history that need to be seen on a big screen to get the proper effect, and this is one of them...don't pass it up.

Like i said before, it's a movie...not a social event. Why do you need someone there? People who talk during movies are jackasses.

Go see it by yourself if you have to. It's a very good movie.
