Am I the only guy that admits to liking Moulin Rouge?

I enjoyed the movie, and despite the fact that I find Nicole Kidman wholely (Or rather, should I say whorely?) unappealing, I am straight.

See...that's what's so funny to me about this movie. It's if you say, "I liked Moulin Rouge", you have to immediately follow that with a comment about your girlfriend, or wife, or how big your motor in your car is. Reiminds me of that Married w/ Children episode where they all got perms and started doing their hair up in salonns...and finally at the end,

"Let's find a fire hydrant and wash the gay away"......

Something about this movie is an affront to hetero or something. I dunno.

What'd you do last night?
Watched Moulin Rouge? And then my wife and I went and, you know.

<--not scared to admit he likes it....but would be scared to talk about it in a gay crowd....not that there's anything wrong with that 😉

I thought it was the best most creative movie in a long time.
And for that Moulin Rouge > Chicago, because it innovated...
Its always easier to copy something than to be brave enough to think it up and release it the first time.

I don't much like the movie beyond ogling at Kidman. However, it sure does look pretty on a good home theater setup. It makes an HDTV shine.

Just wondering b/c everytime I say I liked that movie, someone has something smart to say.

My wife liked it and begged me to go see it and I REFUSED. Saw it came on HBO, and Tivo'd it, and caught the last part with her, and was interested, and watched the whole thing and liked it alot. Of course, I'm a pretty big opera fan too....but I just liked the story and the new mix on the music they did.

Plus.....well....Nicole was well worth watching too.

Anyway. Dat's all.

Ghey....queer. I wrote those so you neffs wouldn't have to 😉

That is about 3 hours of my life that I will never get back, and quite frankly, I don't ever want back!
terrible acting by bad actors, the killing of many great songs, very sad script....
OH, THE HUMANITY!

Moulin Rouge is great. Period.
is Moulin Rouge better than Chicago?
Yes, because it's wierder. Originality, IMO, is a trump card.

yea, i like it a lot too. my female friend DRAGGED me to go see it. when i came out i had to give her mad props for being right about it.

Great movie. I enjoyed it very much:lips:

The book "Moulin Rouge" is great too. Lots of info on Henri De Toulouse Lautrec.

I liked Chicago more than Moulin Rouge, though both had enough hot women dancing around in very little to make me 🙂.

I liked most of the songs very much... however, once the story got all sappy about 2/3 the way through I got tired of it.

I watched about 10 minutes of it and it ranks right up there with the worst movie I've ever seen. I dunno, maybe it's good if you watch the whole thing but I'm not giving it the chance on the strength (or lack thereof) of what I saw.
