I run 20 miles a week, lift weights and take tae kwan do. I do something athletic almost every day - but since I don't spend 20 hours a week sitting on my a$$ eating Pringles and watching football, basketball, etc. on TV, I'm "not into sports".
Ya gotta love white males......

Yep, it's sad. Actually, I don't get it, or get into it one way or the other. We just finished the youth league's football season this afternoon. The coach came up to thank me for supplying him with game tapes all season. He doesn't talk to me much, because I don't talk "shop" about plays to use or technics or drills etc. After he said thanks, I told him how much I appreciated what he does for the kids and all. Then awkward silence... talk about making highlight tape, then more awkward silence... "Well, let's get some more food at the concession stand," he said. I reply, "Good idea!" <whew> Conversation over! :p

I used to play church ball the point was to find something to entertain the youth and keep them out of trouble.
well the first season it was empthized that it was just "for fun" and everyone played. near the end it became about "winning" and this church is better than that church. and I sat the bench for the last 6 games.
The next year I reluctently signed up again.
I sat the bench for the first three games. and I never went back. what was the point it became about "winning" and being the "best" over lets just enjoy the sport.

its bullsh|t.
utter bullsh|t

You should hear some of the crap I caught on tape in the stands. When the team is winning, it's all peachy, but when it heads south... look out! All these turds who you never see helping out or with the kids at pratice, have all kinds of advice for how things should be done. I know the coach has heard some of these comments while viewing the games. Makes me sick. This afternoon, I wanted to stick the camera right in their face and tell them to spew their guts, so the coach could see who the big mouths were. :frown:

No, I never watch sports - they suck. But, I do watch the superbowl - but only for the commercials! ;)
