Am I supposed to tip a take out order?

I'm getting take out buffalo wings from BW3's tonight (yum). When I've gone there in the past and used my credit card for take out, there's a tip line on the receipt.

Am I supposed to be adding an extra for a take out tip? 😕

Not afaik, tip areas on the receipts are for eat-in customers generally, or if it's a take-out-only place, they're probably just using the cheapest pads they could find which happen to have a tip area.

There's a pizza place near my house that is only take-out, and they have a big tip jar on the counter with "Tip Jar" written on it in large letters. I almost broke out in a fit of laughter on the spot. I haven't been back.

Well the idea behind tipping waiters is because they provide a service. If you go get the food, there is no service provided except making the food, which you pay for in the actual bill.

jesus....that sounds like common sense!

outta this forum n00b! 😛

lets see... YOU go to the store and YOU pick the food up YOURSELF...

i don't see where's the tip going... the chef? are you going to tip he chef?

Absolutely not. And the people who put tip cups out at Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, etc should be fired.
