Not sure about GA, but Mosh didn't actually disseminate anything. She TALKED about doing it via PM with another member.

Mods rifled through her PM's since they have a running dossier on her, and suspected her.

They found communication about possibly disseminating the info.

A better analogy would be leaving a list of everyone's salaries on the break room table where you work for everyone to see, and then firing anyone who made got caught making a copy of it.

Happened where I used to work, printout was torn (4 sections) and put in trash. Not so hard to put together. Name, address, dept , $/hour, SS number, employee number, hire date. :sneaky:

Hopefully admins/mods in this forum will find out how it happened in the first place. I can understand the curiosity regarding what info can be found there, but disseminating them to others or talking via PM was not a good step. Live and learn next time.

I think that almost everyone here would taken a peek into the moderator forums if given a chance, myself included. I'd probably check for posts about myself first (just to figure out which of mods don't like me), and then I'd read up about some of more prolific trolls around here to find out who got them banned.

I'd also try to figure out how HAL9000 is still somehow allowed to post here

A certain mod kept a dossier on Mosh, waiting for the right time to railroad her and silence her for good.

Private messages still worked fine though. The mods rifled through the private messages of members who they suspected in disseminating the mod forum info. That's how GA and Mosh were banned from what I hear. Mods/anyone else feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I was a super mod once on a forum but i don't remember going through pm's as being part of the job, let alone even knowing about that ability.

Like others, I don't see this being the same as the "unlocked bank" analogy at all...more like leaving your mail on the desk and someone snooping through it...the only issue (to me) is if someone made copies of your mail and started sending it to other people...(which seems to be what GA did...and Mosh apparently discussed doing)
Had the mod forum still been open when I tried to look...I'd probably have snooped a bit...but wouldn't have done the stupid thing of copying stuff for dissemination.
GA has been vacationed many times for his rabid hate and uncontrolled mouth.
Hopefully, this time it's permanent. (of course, I expect him to be back under a different name...just to keep the mods on their toes)
