why not stay in IS and then get the MBA? MBA programs will take anyone that has good grades and can pay, and most MBA departments have at least 2-3 professors that specialize in information systems, knowledge managemetn, etc...

What do you mean by business?

I have an economics degree and I work on Wall Street. I know lots of people on WS who have economics degrees. But then again, I know lots of people on WS who have history, english, CS, engineering degrees too.

Gotta agree with YamahaXS. IMO, business undergrad degrees are not worth very much. If you think you need an MBA, and it'll help if you want to get a crack at a good career path, make sure it's from a good school. Most MBA schools, especially the good ones, don't really want biz undergrads. When I'm recruiting, I look for engineering or math undergrads with MBAs. FWIW.

IMO, I think you should do something that is applicable to the career you want, that is also enjoyable to you, that can also provide you with the highest GPA you can get.

It's no use being a Math major with a 1.7 GPA IMO.

Major in Economics.

More than any other major, it teaches you a way to *think*. I originally majored in Computer Science, and then Mathematics, and neither of them provided the analytical skills that I learned in Economics. Even if you don't use any of the Econ knowledge you get, the analytical skills can be applied anywhere.

HAHA. im at UCI too and in ICS and was thinking about the same thing.

But now, i think its too much trouble to switch and im beggining to like ICS.
Anyways, my plans were to switch schools. You should really go talk to your counselers and get advice from them.
and if you were wondering, i was going to apply to USC cause their apps are due this march (or thats what i have heard).

If you are going to stay at irvine, definetly minor in management cause that is the closest thing we have to business.
Otherwise good luck.
