Sorry if you find my reply offensive, it's not intended to be. The point, I think, is that this thread is retarded and vain. You look fine, if others have an issue with your appearance than it's their problem, not yours.

It's a shame you've given it sufficient mindshare to even make this post.

I think he just wants to be more popular with the females. Nothing tooo wrong with that. He just wants to create a less "intimidating" appearance. Since this appearance prevents him from being popular with the females, and hides his true sensitive self.

Hans I think you are one of the few cool guys here but you don't look intimadating or scary at all. In fact you look like a regular Joe Nice Guy (Hey it could be worse, you could look like TGG or his girlfriend!)

hey i dont think this thread is all vain. i realized a long time ago that people do care about presentation. just this whole you look like a thug thing bothered me. like when people are talking about music, they immediately assume i like rap. i mean i like some rap , but i wouldnt say i'm super into hip hop. i'm r&b and pop. but i guess the look has pigeonholed me into some crazy ass thug life, bad ass, rap listening lets kill everyone tommorrow hole, and i dont think thats fair.



this is a self betterment thread. i thank you all, well except you people who arent helping. you can all suck it. and all you people from fs/ft we own anandtech... you know it .

Thug? Is it possible for an Asian to look like a Thug? Even Yao Ming looks like a nice guy! Jet Li looks like a sweet heart. I know looks are decieving but unless someone is physically intimadating it's hard for them to look like a "Thug"

Nah. Here in the GTA, scarbourough (suburb of Toronto) is almost pure 100% asian. Plenty of guys thuggin' it up here.

yeah, the zippy fade kinda does convey the AzN thug persona that we all know and love. To get outa that image, it would be best to wear appropriate sized shirts, and not spike your hair.

agreed. do NOT spike your hair. seems like not so excessively large shirts/sweatshirts would be best

gangsterrrrrrrr. you look exactly like this ghetto guy at my school. i think its the shaved head and the darker skin. plus the ghetto clothes... makes you look ALMOST black, and we all know black ghetto boys are scary.

Hans you look fine, I know you and it's not your looks it's your personality. Maybe you come off to strong, you can be a little loud and overbearing at times and I think that would scare away most of the girls that you would be in contact with. Also a CSE major is intimidating for a lot of people, any science or engineering turns off a lot of girls. Most of the girls that are engineers or science majors are not outgoing and are typically too involved in their education and or careers to want to approach a guy. You have to take those first steps, and if you get shot down a few times it will pail in comparison to the first time you succeed. You can't always think it's you, that is a self defeating attitude.

You're good enough, you're smart enough, and dog gone it, people like you.
