I post occasionally on a 144MHz ARM processor, 32MB RAM (24MB available storage capacity) 🙂

of course this does run Palm OS 5.2.1H 😛

you just gave me an excuse to run my win95 33mhz 486dx machine with a whopping 16mb ram and 1/2 gig hdd. woot! took me like 30minutes to post(using 7.2k modem)

Ok here are some pix of this previously mentioned bucket of bolts!

Text - Does anyone know what kind of PCI slot this is? It's not PCI-X or 64bit PCI.

That SD20 doesn't take bad pix at all! These were resized 50% from originals as well.

I think he means the really long white one, not the ISA at the bottom.

Oh, and I have no idea what kind that is.

isa slots were black and the pines were like 4 times the size ... n00b 😉

I'm taking about the PCI slot. Forget about the ISA sluts for now!

Also since macro on the SD20 disables the flash, I had to provide light source via L4. What a great light! 🙂

well, there is one at the bottom of the pic ... n00b 😉

Yes. My second box is pretty old though ::

P III 866 Mhz
768 MB RAM
8x SCSI CDRW
nVidia Ti 4600 VidCard
40 GB and 20 GB HDD's

I should fire this machine up. Problem is somebody took the ram out and the hard drive. The hard drive was SCSI and it looks like this system takes ECC memory but it's SDRAM (100MHz) and that stuff is nowhere to be found around here.

I should grab a Dell with AGP slot. Most of the Dells are dimensions and the damn thing won't fit! Any ideas?

Well, if you look carefully, it says "PCI4", and near the extension part of the connection, it says "RAIDPORT". I would assume that it is some sort of proprietary extension, providing higher bandwidth or something, specifically for a matching proprietary RAID card.

Good eye, even if it makes me look bad! 😛

Yeah that's good ole Dell for ya! Take something from AMI (this was pre LSi-AMI days) and proprietarise it (is that even an f'in word?) and charge five toes and an ankle for it to mate with their port. Methinks the ports I'll stick with are filled with water thank you very much!

Yeah, some company had a little PCI extension connector too, for some sort of proprietary multi-media add-on. "Asus MediaBus" I think it was. Something like that anyways.

Remember the bad old days of pre-VESA-standard 386/486 local-bus slots? Every mobo mfg had their own. It was a total mess.
Props for having one of those full-length PCI monster 3DLabs cards though. I got to play with an "Accel 500TX" card once, it was fun. NT's OpenGL "pipes" screensaver was insanely fast, even on an ancient 486 machine.
