Am I right to ASSume that everyone else knows their remote control buttons by touch?

For years now I've made it a point that when I get a new controller I can pick it up and orient myself with it without looking so that I don't have to look at it to change channels (since I change channels like a crazy man all the time). I know where power is, my 4 pre-set channels, volume, mute, and channel up/down. So does everyone else do this or do you actually waste the effort to look at what buttons to press?

I know how to find the functions I use most often, but probably 75% of the buttons on both my TV & DVD remote go unused.

I don't know mine by touch. I had way damn to many and the wife said to get rid of the clutter.

My remote is a Universal OmniRemote for Handspring, so I have to look.

LOL,are you asking if we know how to push buttons blindfolded or in the dark? 😀

I can work the basic button, power/channel/sound/mute all in my sleep😀 I can even find the remote in my sleep most of the time because it stays on the trunk next to my bed. I know I have turned my TV off many times in my sleep, and have also found it on completely different channels or sound turned way down or muted. So, yes I know the main buttons by heart.

I know all 5 I have in my living room mine by touch, don't have to look.

I am resisting getting one of those $200 do it all touchscreen remotes just because it won't have tactile buttons.

200 bucks for a remote.. kinda seems like a waste no matter how much dough you got.... but yeah.. i use my remotes about once a week and i know every button..

Yes, nearly every button.
What makes it even sadder is that this is my remote and each key has a different function for each of the 4 devices I control with it. :Q

Yes, I know all three by touch. (TV, VCR, and keyboard). I can even work the touchscreen register at work with out looking sometimes. And faster than the rest of the people at my work. Yeah it's sad, but I can help 50 customers in the time it takes others to help 30.
