Am I reading this right? XP doesn't support NTFS on external drives??

I have exactly this problem - I get delayed write failed errors left and right with my new external hard drive that I formatted with NTFS.

I've used NTFS on my external hard drives and never had a problem in XP. Of course I always use the " right-click the device in My Computer or in Windows Explorer, and then click Eject " before removing it from the PC.

That's news to me. My 500GB Seagate FreeAgent drives are formatted NTFS, and I've never had a problem with them. (Under XP)

It works, you just gotta be extra careful about removing the drives.

A removable storage device is not an external hard drive.

I have several external drives - all with NTFS. I think the caveat refers to flash media devices. They are normally FAT 32.
