Am I over stepping by taking the temperature of my sons friends?

Considering the little time and effort it takes I suppose it can't hurt. Just remember those temp guns have a wide spread you want it very close to the test area to get a good result.

I live in a low risk area so I have been seeing friends and family once in a while, though a while back they did change the rules because they are entering a second wave down south. But then they also tell us to be careful durring thanksgiving... so it's basically hinting at saying we can be with family even though they said we can't lol. I think as long as we stick to under 10 people we should be ok. (that was the original rule) If schools can have 30 kids packed in a classroom then 10 family members in a house with social distancing should be safe.
 
I'd agree... a temperature check is definitely not too intrusive. I don't have kids but i might be wary about having them over in the house.
 
I had a doctor appointment a couple of weeks ago, opted to go vs. tele-med primarily to get my flu shot. He is in a 5 story medical building, so lots of traffic. In the lobby there is a check station where they take temps, ask questions, etc., and require you to wear one of their "hospital quality" masks.

I was already wearing a N95, but they insisted. I said NO, the N95 protect ME and you. The one you want me to wear protects only you.
She said I could put theirs over mine. And go up. Nope, I will be in my car, they can call me, which I was told was the procedure when I called to inquire the week before.

Got the call in about 10, went up and they took me right in.

Reminds me of trump saying someone in the Oval Office sneezed, and everyone, including him, ran out of the room. The one statement he made this year I wasn't offended by.
 
I'm disappointed how many people here are against safety, and temperatures are inadequate. 50% of transmissions are asymptomatic.
 
Are you makng them wash their hands, too? God, I remember when I was a kid and over a friend's house and his mother made us do that every time we came back into her home. We learned to avoid her home at all costs.

Huh, must have been during the last pandemic. Apples and apples situations.
