Am I over doing it?

I've got a 2 case fans, 1 on top and 1 on the bottom. Also have an exhauster that takes up a PCI slot, my vid card already has a fan on it, and I've got a semi-decent heat sink/fan on my PIII... do I really need that many fans or is it just for nice?

Sounds good as long as your temps stay cool. Check out my fans (linked in my profile) if you think you have a lot of fans. There are people out there with WAY more fans then I have....

I was trying to talk Neo into using a bar fridge and wrapping the case in plastic to keep the condensation out...

But... He just laughed with that far-a-way look in his eye that told me it was time to play cs....

Oh well... That is the extent of my computer ideas..

🙂

are you even overclocking? if not, just wasting electricity man, and where i live... San Diego... my roomies would kill me for that... ever see $120 monthly electricity bills? i have... 🙁

If you're not overclocking you may be a little overboard. And certainly the exhauster in your PCI slot probably isn't doing all that much. You could take that out and not have any ill effects. On the other hand, like KouklatheCat said, there are a lot of folks on here with way more fans!

Crank that cpu of your up and get on to some overclocking. NOW you hear me??? I SAID TURN IT UP!!!

When you start up your pc & it hovers about 3 inches from the ground, then i would say you're over doing it.😉

if you're looking to minimize electricity use/noise, then take out fans until the case temp starts to rise. you can take out that PCI exhaust thing, they dont' do anything. this is what i have:

2 intake 80mm
2 exhaust 80mm
FOP38(delta 34cfm fan)
small 486 fan for my MX's heatsink

i don't really need all of those, i just like hearing them 😛

If your case hovers off the top of your desk or floats around the room then you MAY have over done it with fans. Note I said MAY.......😀

over do it? nah..not by a long shot, should see my rig, modified KS188+PP303X, i just installed a 120mm 120V AC 200CFM fan in the front,...no you didn't misread...i did say AC and 200CFM 😉

my lowest internal temperature was ~57F with the thermal probe over the CPU reading 64F
you can see it here, i just polished it off with some snazzy chrome grills...and yes it's overclocked...waitin on my 80w pelt, designing a closed circuit convection cooling system 🙂

-yes im crazy-

Well I have 2 80mm exhaust fans 1 80mm intake and 1 92 mm intake Plus the obligatory cpu and vid card fans noise level is tolerable and everything stay well cooled.I am considering 1 more intake fan blowing on the cpu.
