Am i mistaken or there is a diffrence between hot and cute.

Giselle Bundchen, Brook Burke, etc.=Hot
Kristen Kreuk, Hyori Lee, etc.=Cute

any are great. Usually its hard for me to think of anyone whos a mix between pretty and hot though. its more like cute/pretty or cute/hot often
 
I think there's actually 2 groupings of women, appearance wise. Good looking women and not so good looking women. hotness, cuteness, etc is all just a product of what look they're currently pursuing like the clothing they wear, the way they've applied their makeup, and whatnot. Think of it the extreme, take someone you consider hot and put them in a big plush easter rabbit costume prancing around with children. Cute....unless you're really into rabbits and cotton fur... Now put them in a playboy bunny outfit, complete with those rabbit ears, very cute AND hot. Now strip them down to sexy lingerie...very hot, not so cute. Now strip them completely nekkid. Not really hot, not really cute unless they do something to give one impression or another. They might be beautiful or well-built women, but you can't really put them in either category.

Good thing you brought this up. People seem to mix the words up sometimes.

For me, beautiful or pretty refers to just the face.

Hot is beyond beautiful. It's the body and face seen as a whole. Meaning beauty in its entirety.

Average looking refers to someone who isn't ugly but isn't particularly pretty or hot looking.

Cute (the most misunderstood word) refers to character/persona. A cute person can be ugly on the face or average looking.

That's of course my perception of those words.

Really...? This is news to me.... I have actually been more attracted to cute girls than "hot/sexy" before, so it doesn't seem like the slightest insult to me...

*shrug* I take what I can get. 😉 Telling a girl she's cute though is equivilant to telling her you don't think she's hot. "hot girls are almost always cute, but cute girls arent always hot." If you thought she was hot, you'd tell her, as she figures it, but since you tell her she's cute, you're eliminating her from the hot category.
 
I dunno,I'm almost 5 ft 9, my mother used to insist on trying to get me "Pixie" haircuts.. there ain't nothing pixie like about me, I feel the same way about the "cute" label🙂

I always though calling a girl cute was a great compliment and calling her hot to her face was like saying she is slutty and you just want to have sex with her. I guess I was wrong, in some people's views but I will continue to say cute because I believe it is a better compliment.
 
My girlfriend hates it when I call her cute. In my opinion, she is, though. I don't consider "cute" to ipmply youth or anything. In my mind, cute means endearing. Hot means attractive in a purely physical sense, often in a purely sexual manner. Cute means attractive, but not so much sexually, but overall, in appearance and mannerisms and personality. Cute to me is the perfect girl; one can be hot and a total b|tch, but to be cute means that a girl is aso really nice and sweet.

I think that depends on the situation /relationship with the girl.

hot: britney spears in pepsi commercial (except when she does that weird stick-out-toungue thing with crazy eyes... that is way cute)
beautiful: catherine zeta jones in earlier years
