OK, i just had a new system built, cause i could not do it myself.........
amd 64 3500
Abit AV8 mobo
antec sonata w/380
6800 GT

I told the dude i wanted corsair pc 3200 ram......
what I got was corsair value select pc 3200 ram..........
Am I ok, If better ram would do my system justice, what would yall recommend...

My first post, please be gentle.......

that ram will be fine. the benefits of buying fast/expensive ram are not worth it unless you o/c like crazy or have to have the best. plus the amd platform is not nearly as needy when it comes to memory bandwidth as a p4 platform and the faster timed ram is not really worth it imo as you will not see much gain.

i asked the guy if newer pc 5400 ddr2 ram would be better for my system, he said no, is he correct.????????????????

gave him 1950.00
and that included all data migartion, came with dvd rom and dvd burner, dvd pro software, dvd shrink, all kinds of good stuff

can you list all of the parts he put in it? that does seem like a lot, but like you said, there was data migration involved which is always a pita

cruzan why couldn't you build it yourself? please read around here and ask questions before your next one because you could save quite a bit of $$$ if you built it yourself. since you were charged $1950, make sure the guy who built it gives you all the tech support you need for atleast one year.

that is what i am thinking, also ddr2 would can not fit in ur mobo the only ddr2 boards out right now are for p4's. i hope he didnt pocket the diff how much did he charge u?

also that price he charged u seems very high but maybe u have some stuff we dont know please tell us ur specs everything u got from him including monitor if u did get one.
