I have an audigy platnium SB and it's connected to promedia klipsch 5.1 speakers...When I try to configure my setup to digital output, I get no sound, just hiss...is there something in the SB software I'm not selecting correctly or do I need to use an amp or something with the klipsch?

ok i don't own either.so this may not help

1.list os
2. in your sound options in the os did you add the digital out and enable it?my xp os has the option to choose digital and make sure its unmuted.
3.are you trying to listen to an audio cd if so do you have the digital wire hooked up to the audigy?

if this doesn't help consider it a bump for more knowledgable people to see it and help out

or just disable onboard sound, that would probably do the same thing im thinking...

you know when you go to adjust volume (speaker thing in system tray)
go options, enable advanced controls, advanced (it appears under Play control), then select digital output only there if you havent done so already
also make sure speakers are using digital connector on soundcard with digital cable? (if there is a such thing as digital sound cable lol)
