I see monitors here and there but i am having trouble sorting through the data. Every time i think i see what i want, i notice some thing stupid, like 2 identical monitors that have the same stats, but the size of the screen is different.... that makes me nervious. Will the 23 be better in some way stat wise that im not seeing? like better pixel pitch or viewing angle? So i get nervous. Atleast i know roughly what i want.

LED backlight
1080p
23-24" (I prefer which ever has better performance. IE/ if i lose some unexpected stat because the screen size got an inch bigger, i won't sac it in favor of merely a larger screen. )
2MS response time
VESA standard (must be usable on an articulating desk mount. Will be pivoting. )
300 cd/m2 or more.
5m:1 contrast ratio. (i know that number is BS, but the LED backlight makes these guys say crazy things. )

Preferably, id like a samsung or LG, but any brand people usually trip over to endorse for reliability will do if you think it will fly at a better price. I've never owned a Dell, for example, but people go gaga for them. I will not buy Vizio, Acer, or KDH brands. Westinghouse is right out.

Also, i am really curious about that size thing. Please enlighten me.

http://www.digitalversus.com/article-357.html (edited to take you right to the 23-28" monitors) has some of the best monitor reviews on the net. You just have to make sure to stay on the european site and don't get transfered to the american side. The european site has much better reviews.

Then the only challenge after you decide which monitor is the one you want on that review site you might have to find what the model number for the american monitor is. They do tests for input lag, and ghosting which many monitor reviewers just comment on instead of measuring them.
