Right now I'm running 3 7200rmp hdds, one plextor burner, one toshiba dvdrom, an bunch of card, a gf3 with fan, two front intake fans, one rear fan, and a floppy drive all on one 300W enermax PSU. I'm SSSOOO paranoid right now. Should I buy a new higher power PSU? if so, what brand and what wattage?

No you don't. I'm using a Premier 300W PSU for the following unit:

2-40GB 7200 RPM HDD
1-CDRW
1-72X CDRom
1-DVD Rom
1-Floppy
1-Zip
1-SCSI Scanner
5-80mm case fans
2-92 mm case fans
1-60mm HSF
1-Ext. Modem (powered from system)
1-Webcam USB (powered from system)

Without any problem. You see you never use all of this stuff at the same time. You know when you have PSU problem, the screen goes blank and lights on the cpu goes out.

UH-OH........this morning I left to go buy some stuff and when I came back my comp had totally locked up and was beeping continuously. the screen was black, the hdd light was on, and it was just beeping like crazy. Could this be a power problem? in my bios I have it set to autoshutdown if it reaches 60 degrees C but I seriously doubt it would be a cpu heat problem....

bump

btw, my screen DID go blank and my system was beeping so maybe I do have a power problem....and yes I use all three hdds and sometimes the burner and or the dvd drive at ONCE.

Could this be a sign that I better get a new PSU quick?

Is there any chance that my hdds could fail and I could lose all my data if they don't get enough power? If so, wha is a good brand PSU that is quiet?

I don't think your HDs would lose any data they'd already written....at least you wouldn't lose everything :)

Personally, I like my Antec 400w PS :D

Processors are coming fitted with lights now? Cool! ;)

Seriosuly a decent PSu is never a bad investment, especially with 3 harddrives. A good PSu will outlast 90% of the components in your system

The worst problem is probably with cached data, i would imagine
