so I am really concerned with my new girlfriend. Am I going nuts or what? Yesterday when I cooked chicken for her she said she is not eating the SKIN!!! Then went on telling me it is full of dangerous chamical elements and more sience talk of which I didn't get much.

However, I wonder does anyone of you know anything like this or is she making that up for no reason?

PS: Yes, I can cook so the problem is not in my cooking!!

maybe spelling is your problem?

I don't eat the skin if I can avoid it. If I do get chicken out someplace and the skin is on, I will take it off. I don't know about all the dangerous stuff your gf is talking about. My mom always made fried chicken with the skin off and I've gotten used to no skin. Then again my mom is the type that reads Prevention magazine and proceeds to give me the details to almost any food recommendation she gives me. That said, there may be something to what your gf is saying about the skin. Over the years I have tuned out all the extra info my mom gives me and focus only on the main point....skin=bad. Then again thanks to my mom I make sure to include bean sprouts on as many salads/sandwiches as possible (very healthy they are).

I'm done rambling now.

according to people just about anything will give you damn cancer or kill you. chocolate gives you cancer, barbeque gives you cancer, what's next? breathing causes cancer? just eat your freaking food what is often not reported is that the average person eating 20 years of something like barbeque will only raise your chances of cancer a couple of percent at most.

it's all scare tactics.

if you eat good, work out and take care of yourself, you die

if you eat like a lardass, sit in a chair and post on ATOT all day and dont take care of any bodily functions, you die.

people shoud stop worrying your'e screwed either way. what's the point of living long if your life sucks?

AHA Recommendation
The American Heart Association recommends removing the skin from chicken, turkey and other poultry before cooking, except when roasting. When roasting, the skin should be removed before the meat is eaten. Removing the skin lowers the fat (especially saturated fat and cholesterol).
Data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) show that chicken with skin is higher in fat than chicken without skin.

if it's burnt, it can be carcinogenic. if it's not, it's fatty. either way, it's bad for you and tastes good.
