am i fscked?

k well i dont want any flames, they will just be ignored anyway so just dont do it.

I went to community college this year(1st year student)because i didnt get accepted anywhere, i had good grades in college i just am not a very lucky person i spose. anyway i kinda ****** up this year @ school the only core classes i passed were history and maybe english(depends on my final grade this week) i want to transfer out at the end of next year and im going to take 18 credits next semester, and spring 08. bringing me to 43(including the english and history) now. when i applied i chose my degree as "video production" (it sounded good at the time, it has changed since then) my first question is, does it matter what my degree is at a community college since im transfering? second will it be possible to transfer at the end of the year if i get my act together or am i fscked?

*if i get my act together can i still get out of community college?

i already thought of what some answer woulds be:

ask an advisor
ask your highschool counselor
ask *insert title here*

my advisor is never around/never answer or replies my emails
my highschool counselor is always super busy
my 3rd option was to ask ATOT

Provided you get your associates degree and get a certain GPA most state have it so that you will be accepted into a state college. I don't think it will matter to a college what you got your associates in but I think it will help if your applying to a simlar major at the new school. Its never to late to change your act just keep at it.

Certainly not gonna help your chances. It's basically like applying to college out of high school. You should talk to the admissions officer of the college you want otransfer to

its damn near impossible to get ahold of any admissions people this time of year, people have been accepted and they are on vacation already (in their minds they are)

Finns: i get what you are trying to stay, i kinda dont want to hang around at a community college for another year though

Its easier to transfer with an associates in whatever and start as a junior at most places. Why would your high school counselour even be in the picture? As soon as you graduated you lose his services.

well her daughter kinda lives with my dad while shes going to school in hawaii so we are really good friends. not only that but she does college counseling for graduates from my highschool

There is only so much counselors can do, you are "out of the coop", its up to you to figure sh1t out and get things done yourself. Start applying to some state schools as they may be more lenient and take some of your comm college courses so that you can start off as 2nd or 3rd year student. If you failed freshman year courses, thats not going to look very positive for you. Retake those courses, get good grades (at least B) and meanwhile start applying to State school of your choice.

My counselors actually made my life worse buy screwing up all the time (Financial and Academic). The second I took control of everything rather than being dependant on the counselors, things actually turned out much better.

IMHO it would be easier to transfer with an associates degree. Sometimes credits for individual credits won't transfer the way you think they should, whereas with the degree, it would probably be much easier to transfer and retain all of your credits.
