better than sending all the money to china via walmart, btw there are no big screens made in the usa, and i doubt many dealers take gift cards but thanks for putting some thought into your proposal.

Hey Guys,
I saw in the news about what we shall get back from the government, so i pay taxes, im 18, work, and pay taxes through work, i.e income tax, medicare etc etc. I do live with my parents BUT does that mean i wont get tax rebate ? since my dad cant get tax credit off me anymore, so does that mean i am eligible for the $800 ?

Just being 18 doesn't make you not a dependent.

nope. if he is going to school its 25 i beleive.

That's if you are not living at home...you are a dependent if you are a child until they stop supporting you. Covers mostly those who medically cannot do this otherwise.

As of tax year 2006 IIRC if a parent is paying more than half of their childs cost of living and the child lived with them 6 months out of the year they can claim them as a dependent no matter the age as long as the child doesnt exceed a certain level of income.

Under Bush's plan you have to have paid atleast $800 in taxes for the year 2007.

that would exclude all the poor people/people on welfare
the Democrats in Congress will never go for that, their voters will be pissed they didn't get a voting check

Thats why I also included Obamas plan. I have a feeling its going to be a cross between the two.

imagine that...having to pay tax...to get a tax refund. How absurd!

Okay, seeing how this going here's the deal:
Bush wants 800/1600 plus tax cuts for his buds.
Congress wants 400/800 plus unemployment benefits plus tax cuts for their buds.
I ain't either party's bud and I ain't unemployed (yet).

So, seeing that this is an election year and we gots a bunch of political types shaking babies, here is my proposal:
The candidate who comes forward with the biggest handout gets my vote. So let's hear from the Obama camp and the Romney camp and even see what Dr. Paul is offering.

I'm pimping my vote so let the bidding begin.
