Second ITX motherboard I got in the last six months that has one dimm slot not working. The MSI board I got came in an pre-build ITX barebones kit. Dimm 2 was not working.

Fast forward to this week and the Asus Z97 Plus itx dimm slot 1 was not working...

I started to think my ram was bad, but swapping 3 different sticks all shows just dimm 1 didn't work.

The memory controller is on chip, have you overclocked the CPU under heavy voltage? The memory does not show up at all, in CPU-Z? Is the memory on the mother board compatibility list, of both boards?

It would not boot at all with any memory in first dimm. The last board that was dead was using a different CPU (Intel Pentium G3258) where as the Asus wouldn't load with my 4770k which worked fine in my Z87 Micro atx.
