Am I crazy? Want to get a PS2 just for GT2000

Hey Guys...I hadn't really played a console since...well, Joe Montana Football on the Genesis.

My friend loaned my his PS and GT2 a few months ago...graphics were mediocre, but the game itself -- hooked. Since Bleem doesn't support GT2 yet, if ever...

I'm thinking that I'll have to buy a PS2 just to play GT2000...my girlfriend thinks I'm insane -- my "but it's a DVD player too" argument doesn't work because I've got a really nice DVD player already. Any suggestions? Can I really justify over $300 for a game console that so far I am only interested in one game?

Is it as ridiculous as it sounds?

No, youre not crazy!

The Grand turismo series is some of the best racing on any system, ive been dying for an equivalant pc racer but none have appeared yet.

And sega GTs cars handle a little squirrly!

The GT series has what all racers should, great handling with opponents that make you out race them to win, the winner isnt always the guys with the fastest car.

But if youre looking to get a PS2 & GT2000 on launchday(26th), I was just informed that GT2000 has been delayed til 2001.(kinda kills the game title)

Of course I'm buying a PS2 for more than just GT2000, but if youre a racing nut & you have the extra $$$, why not!

Some pc or DC owners may try to talk you out of this, but its your $$$.

I own an up to date PC, DC, N64, PS & Ive owned just about every console or top of the line video card there has been.

When my friends say I'm nuts, I just say
"I don't play systems, I play GAMES"!

I totally agree with you guys. Like MTDew said, play games not systems.

I feel the same way about this situation. I have a great DVD player and now have to decide if I want a PS2 for $300. It might be better to wait for a couple months if you can get your fix another way, because they will drop in price.

All racing games suck, theres no blood, you cant kill your opponents, whats the point?

Carmageddon was one cool game, too bad it was so damn buggy
