Its a red Saab 9-3 Aero 2008 model for about $17k. It has all the options you'd find standard in a $40k Lexus. I am so hot on this car, but....

Saab is about to go under. Liqudated, and not bought by anyone. I'm worried about future parts that may need to be replaced. This particular Saab no longer has the factory warranty as its already over 50k miles. I would most likely buy a dealer extended warranty option.

I know the resale value will be very, very low in 5 years. Even more so if Saab really disappears. That being said and all the amenities I'm getting on a car I fell in love when test driving, would you roll the dice if its a great car (as of today)?

I wouldn't buy a daily driver built by a company who is currently under new management, on life support, has iffy parts availably, and with zero US based points of service but thats just me.

Offer them $12K, and if Saab goes under you can part it out.
Come to think of it, I haven't seen a new Saab in YEARS, people obviously aren't buying them. Where is all the newish stock? Just sitting, being unbought?

i love the look of the saabs. i think it would be a great, unique car. just be prepared when parts are not as easy to find as a ford or chevy.

This. I've been driving saabs for over a decade, and they are undervalued. Acquiring parts won't be an issue.

 this. According to wikipedia, it's related to the Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in the US so I wouldn't be worried too much about parts availability.

Hmm... Pontiac and Saturn both non-existent these days... pattern?
