So let's say we're talking and someone asks you "Why do you always make fun of me?" and you're like "Cuz you're the easiest to make fun of - whoops I shouldn't have said that out loud." in a completely joking manner. Then the other person leaves.

You know they're having a rough day but you're trying to joke around with them and they take it the wrong way. Does that make me an ass?
