i'm serious...if i carry that lighter on board without flint and no butane then its just paperweight...would they still confiscate it? I would hate to lose a $300+ lighter

Why don't you call the damn airline?

Damn why don't you chill out? If thats your answer, why don't you tell most users with questions on here, "Why don't you do a damn google search?"

Because most people ask questions where people here will know an answer. They are looking for help with their computers and such. The only person who can give him a definite answer is the airline he's flying with.

Most questions in OT, however, could be answered with Google.

I think it was a rather good suggestion. :)

I have a Bic lighter in my carry-on all the time, I've flown 10 times since 9/11 without anyone questioning it.

Why don't you put your $300 lighter in your luggage, or else buy a disposable at your destination.

EDIT: Do that if you're worried, that is.

I highly doubt, however, that they will take your precious $300 lighter.

(Is that better, Dhawk ;) )

I too fly every week with my job. I always carry a bic lighter in my pants pocket. Iv'e even gone trough quite a few random searches and took it out of my pocket in front of security in front of them and they have never said a word about it. You will have to either put it in your carry on or put it in one the plastic trays for scanning when you go through security to the gate.

You got to love all the know it alls who have to pull an answer out of their butt. I never reply to a thread unless I definitly know the answer or to add a harmless nef.
