Am I actually hallucinating?

I only got about 5 hours of sleep on Thursday night, and last night a bunch of my friends were networking, and I didn't get home till 45 min ago. I would go to bed, but I have to clean my house today, and I know that if I don't do it now, I won't feel up to it when I wake up. So, I'm cleaning now, and will go to bed after I'm done.

But this is really really freaky....

I was dusting my night stand, and I picked up my lamp to dust under it. All of a sudden, I look at my clock, and the numbers (digital clock) start flickering. Then they all go out except the very right number shows a 1. My vision wasn't blurred, I felt like I was completely awake. After I set the lamp back down, I started wondering whether or not that actually happened. I jiggled the wire on the back of the clock, figuring that they lamp wire moved the clock wire, causing the short.

Did my clock, which has never malfunctioned before, actually flicker? Or was that the most real hallucination I have ever had?

Took me almost two weeks of insomnia before I started hallucinating. Could be I had been and just hadn't noticed, though. :p

Took me 48 hours of straight work with no sleep (after working 16 hours per day for 2 weeks). Saw little gnomes darting across the lobby the last 5 hours...really freaked me out.

I think you're not hallucinating... but you do have the seeds of delusion, an 'idea of reference'

Now... let the dust lie and try to do the same

Frankly, I think dusting when you are really sleep-deprived is a more likely hallucination :D .

Yeah, it's possible it was a hallucination. It's also possible that it's a malfunction.

You'll never really know.

Haha I had the weirdest experience once when I had gone on very very little sleep. I remember laying down in a bed, then about an hour later I "woke up" in the middle of a conversation with a friend of mine in an area like 500 meters from where I had been in bed... it was weird. I had not been drinking when that happened. I had gone without sleep for 3 days and I think that it was starting to catch up with me cahse my experience was crazy.

Clocks do that...if you take a camcorder and zoom in on a digital clock sometimes the numbers will fade in and out. IE: If it's 10:38, it might show 10 |_, or something like that.
