It is called "Senior Ditch Day" you fruit loop.

When I was in HS, I was one of 38 that was in class on Senior Ditch Day (They anounced it the day after. It was pretty sad). Concidering my graduating class was about ~680 people, thats pretty good :). I left after the first period, and went to the local game parlor to hang out until 3:00 pm.

heh..they suspended people for like a week for skipping on skip day.

The key is to show up but casually slip out around noon.

Half day off > No day off > suspension:D

I find it amusing that the universally accepted punishment for not going to school is even more time off school.

Oh yeah..the police officers got to wail on you with clubs for about 23minutes.. I should have menioned that...;)

It's the day of here. All seniors are excused after 2nd period, if they wish to leave. All senior females are excused after first period (wtfbbq?)

If you're going to show up at prom, you're REQUIRED to show up at school, though.

And quite frankly, I'll be buying al lthe lube, condoms, body topping, and anal beads about one month beforehand to avoid the pesky out of stock problem that arises here every grad season.

whats the point of having a sr skip day if your school is excusing everyone? when i was a sr, i had 'sr skip days' at least once a week.

My friends and I went on Senior Skip Day. It was well known that most of the class would be out and the administration was powerless to stop it. The teachers fought back by doing pop quizzes in every class, turn in a sheet of paper with your name on it, get 100 free points towards your grade. With so many of the students out we couldn't do any real work, it was show up, take attendence, do the fake test and then spend the rest of the class just talking or having a study period. Then we'd take the following Friday off and it looked like an ordinary sick day. Everyone that did it that way got the inflated grades, the no-work day and the later skip day, it was a win-win. Hell, what difference does it make, when you're a senior any day can be a skip day. I spent so much time sacked out on one of the sofas in the senior lounge instead of attending class that it probably still has my body shape imprinted on it.

i went cuz I got extra credit in a couple of my classes. Then I didn't have to do some of the bs homework assignments they assigned me. I'd say I came out with the better deal.

SENIOR LOUNGE? Identify this school, please, I need to put in for a transfer ASAP.

My senior skip day was the monday after prom. The genuis school board placed the biology 2 ap exam on that day. My prom date was in that class, so if she was taking an AP exam the day after prom weekend, the least I could do is go to class. I had 4 off periods my senior year anyway.

I'm interested in hearing what kind of consequences these schools could have if they actually dismissed seniors on these days.

Regional speak, sorry. I try not to use it much online, as it messes with people. I graduated in '98, so it wasn't too long ago.

It was St Joseph's HS in Trumbull CT. Senior lounge was right across the hall from the teachers lounge. Several sofas, lots of nice big easy chairs, some tables for doing work, even a stereo and a soda machine. When seniors had a free period they could go to the library for a quiet place to work, the cafeteria for ordinary socializing or the lounge for a place to veg out. As long as we kept the music at a reasonable volume we could have whatever we wanted on the stereo. Typically we'd just turn on the best local rock station and sack out, it was a great place to catch some zzzzzzzzz's if you were out late the night before.

The school board doesn't set the date for AP exams, they are the same nationwide.

Well I went to school today but at least 2/3 of the senior class was absent. We didn't really do anything the whole day. It was pretty pointless. One of my classes we just played cards. The other ones I just slept.....
