A few thots, and I"m gonna jump around here so bear with me, I haven't really made up my mind either way yet so... First, I was reading that OPEC suppliers have recently more than doubled their supplies of oil to the US. This is to make up for South American countries that are on strike and producing nothing. So that means that yes, not all middle eastern folks are bad/greedy/insane zealots.
Second, and I ask this honestly, how can the war help our economy that much? This is supposed to be (if we go in) a lickety split quck like as$ kicking that will be over before we know it. So it's not like in WWI and WWII that went on for years and created scores of jobs and industries and shortages. And third speaking of money and economies, don't any of you think about how much this war is going to cost us in not just lives. God knows that cost is too much no matter how few folks die or are injured. But I'm talking about something that this may sound heartless, but burns my balls all the time, the cost of the US paying to rebuild the countries we go in and hammer on. It has happened time and time again and has cost billions of dollars in aide. Not to mention Turkey's lame as$ fee for setting up camp there. Opportunistic bastards. THAT F'in pisses me off. The more I think about it, I'd like us and the rest of the world to step back and let all the crazy as$ religious zealots blow themselves all to hell. What kind of crazy as$ religion can people believe in that they would believe if they bomb buses and buildings etc. they will be rewarded in the after life. That is what drives me nuts the most.
Also, if the US does have such good proof, and as much as I hate to say it, put your money where your mouth is. So far I haven't seen anything that concrete. Ya, Colin Powel rattled off some sh!t, but c'mon, it wasn't all taht convincing when you are talking about a reason for war. I dont' know...just rambling here.

I know there is all this talk about war and not going to war, protests and all that but here is the deal, after hearing all this sometimes i feel like..hey I need a job, i like getting paid being able to buy stuff and pay bills, i like lower gas prices, i wish our economy was better.. and if getting this war over with is going to improve the economy, help me keep my job and lower gas prices then lets get it over with. Even if there is a small chance for this to happen by going to war then im all for it, cuz honestly i need to feed my family and keep my job.

yeah this may sound hearltess and selfish, but i know im not the only one thinking this...we all have that self preservation mechnaism inside us, that says...better them than me.

So am i a bad guy for thinking this way after having this war talk, economy talk and politics shoved in our faces everyday by the media?

Damn right you are a bad guy... wanting war so you can have economic stability. What the hell is wrong with you? You are no better than Saddam Hussein.

To quote Bob Dylan...

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins
...

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

so your ok with losing your job, house, car etc. with an unstable economy until we decide its not worth it to go to war?

I'll rather lose my life than support a war for money.

Id rather lose my life than see my kids go hungry sorry if this doesnt fit into your beliefs.
my kids..my family comes before anything

Yes, you are. Stop using your family for excuse.

Although I don't agree BooGiMaN's motive for a war, but, I do understand where he is coming from.
As a father, I would do anything to ensure they don't go hungry.

War should be a last resort and only when all diplomatic channels are exhausted.
I don't believe we should have a war just for pure economic benefits, war is to defend
your country, your allies, and to remove tyrants/dictators who are committing genocides,
but not for economic benefits.

I can't even concieve of someone wanting to start a WAR for the sole reason of helping the economy, then defending it with "my children are starving". I really am in awe of the stupidity of some people. I feel sorry for your kids, man.

Are you so naive to think I personally can start a war?

Where have you been at for the last year, we just sent another warship out there.....its going to happen whether we want it or not?

Umm... I meant you are in favor of starting a war... And if everyone thought like you did, we would be living in the United Continents of America.

I'd like to know where you pull this "my children will starve" crap... I really don't get it.l
