My grandmother just died:(

She was a WONDERFUL woman:(

:(

<---going to calc class...today sucks

UPDATE:

I thank you for your gracious sympathy.

SHE IS NOT DEAD! I am in shock. My dad had called me this morning and left a message crying and sobing, telling me that my grandmother had passed away this morning. My mom went to visit them today, as I could not go today. AS IT TURNS OUT, she is in a DEEP COMA, not necessarily dead.

i really don't know what to say. I am speechless. I am REALLY pissed at my dad, but still, my mom was told by the doctors that they aren't sure if she will wake up.

alzheimer's is a horrible disease. My grandmother had it for 6-7 years before she died. It is really hard b/c you go to visit & she couldn't remember our names or who we were, even my mom(her daughter). Sorry for your loss. :(

I can feel for you - lost my mother-in-law just after Xmas. My wife was already on a flight back when we were told.

My Grandfather had it for about 10 years before he died. Before he was in the hospital where he died, he wouls still recognize me, my grnadmother and my mother. Everyone else was a stranger. The last 3 years or so, he couldn't make a coherent sentenace.

Anyway, I'm sorry for your loss. It sucks.

Sorry to hear that man. My grandmother died last Saturday from Alzheimer's as well. It's an absolutely horrible disease, and the woman was in a state of absolute misery (or so we would think) for quite some time. She died weighing under 90 pounds. She could no longer speak, eat, and then ultimately breathe. She didn't recognize her children or anyone else for a few years.

My brother has promised me that he'll end me if I ever segue into such a state.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I feel for you man.....my Grandmother has alzheimer's and as you know it just keeps getting worse and worse....horrible to see.....especially so when the docs continue to say that her body could live another 20 years but her mind is already mostly gone. Terrible disease.....truly terrible.

Sorry to hear that. I recently lost an Aunt to the same. An uncle is currently in the beginning stages of it. Both of my Grandfathers had it.

I'm screwed. I've watched these family member degenerate because of this disease and have decided that Alzheimer's has got to be one of the worst ways to go.
