I've had this happen to me. I told the girl how I really felt and we stopped talking. Went from being really good friends to strangers over night. It stung but I got over it pretty quickly.

Do I regret telling her? Hell no. I'd do exactly what I did if I had a second chance at it. I suggest you tell your lady friend how you feel rather than assume you know how she really feels. That's just my take on it though.
