Ya know, that has been my big problem with going aluminum. Certainly you can paint the drives if its colored, but I would grally like a plain metal look and find it allmost imposible to find drives, or paint for that matter that would match. Im very interested to see what comes up in this thread in the way of suggestions.

Go look at the review of the LianLi PC-60 and -70 on Dan's Data. I can't remember the url right now, but I remember they had pics up of the silver cases with beige drives. If you can't find the reviews, go through Tweakbox...

It's really not ugly at all. I think it looks better than beige on beige;)

The solution is to take the pop-outs that covered drive slots you are using, and attach them to your drives. This looks really cool, and there are directions in this forum somewhere. A second, and more expensive, solution is to buy replacement silver face plates for your drives from someone like Directron.com

so you mean like cut a whole in the metal faceplate so it will fit over the cdrom or something? and then attatch what you cut out to the tray? this sounds rather impractical... hmmmm.... i really wish i could go to virtualhideout.net but for some reasont he site never works for me.

If I remember correctly, I stumbled onto a site a while back taht sold CDROMS and and other drives with matching Al faceplates. I'll try and find it again. But I'd say just call and ask some of these places that sell Al cases

They sell silver drives. I got the TEAC to go with my Lian-Li 68+.

I bought an Aopen DVD and Plexwriter Burner. They had beige faceplates. I simply popped those mofos off, used some Rustoleum silver spraypaint, and made those things look silver. They don't have the same exact "finish" as the case, but they still look damn sexy...

I would take a picture, but I don't have a scanner...

I've got some beige drives in my PC-70, and they look fine. Might look into getting silver faceplates, but that isn't a high priority :)
