Alternatives to the Thinkpad T42

Hi all,

Any laptops out there that are comparable to the Thinkpad T42/41 in terms of reliability and build quality?

They are quite expensive, and I'm just looking for a cheaper solution.

Maybe the HP NC 6000/8000 series. But I would rather have a Thinkpad anyday.

I just got the Toshiba sp25. It's very heavy but out performs my desktop and comes with MS home theatre installed. It's like a freakin tivo.

Lots of fans and heatsinks because the P4 3.2 makes lots of heat.

Pricey but beautiful. Functional yet very, very heavy.
