A woman here at work bought a '98 BMW Z3 M roadster for about $18k, it's a sweet ride! 🙂 She's probably only making $20k/year, so I'm not quite sure what she's thinking but whatever, it's her money.

if you are getting a used car anyway, 2000-2001 S2000's go for around 20K or less.

You could get the Miata and drive around with the top permanently down. 🙂

Thats what my friend does with his s2000, doesnt take it out of the garage unless the top is down 🙂
Yeah, WTF is the point of owning a convertible if you put the top up? You might as well just own a hardtop. 🙂

How on earth does your accord weight 2100 lbs? I think you meant 3100 lbs. I doubt an accord has weighed 2100 lbs since 1980!

I have a 1982 accord hatchback, it weighs 2100 (give or take a couple pounds) curb weight, you know, without fluids. it's gross weight is 3100 (give or take a couple pounds).

Like I said, I miss the 2 door accords, they were nice and light compared to their 4 door counterparts

not sure if you want new, but find your self a toyota supra, those cars are sweet, bit pricy but sweet. The mr2's are also nice, the parts are easy to find, and the handling on them are fing nuts

Where do you live that a used Miata costs 20k "or not much more" and an older S2000 costs more?

Just curious, have you tried sitting in a Miata before? What generation?

Yeah, same question here. I always heard the Miata had good interior dimensions for taller drivers.

i've sat in a '99 and a new '05 turbo model. you can't move the steering wheel up or down, it sits way too low, pretty much in your lap. and it's not like i have fat legs, i weigh 140lbs.

The new 3rd gen miatas comming out have a tiltable steering wheel. 😛 But if you don't wanna wait or can't afford one, get an MR2 Spyder. They are almost as fun as the miata but they have a little more interior space. No trunk space though.

No, it's her exorbitant debt.
meh...mr2's looks are not my taste, and they're overpriced compared to the mazdaspeed mx-5
Big time overpriced, and even girlier, somehow, than a miata. I NEVER see guys driving the new mr2s.

yeah my cavalier is nice. i don't care about how fast i go, just as long as i get good gas mileage and it is fun to drive 🙂
