Alternative to Corsair TX650 V2?

Well, I was about one minute from pulling the trigger on a Corsair TX650 V2 and decided to do some last minute research and noted abundant complaints of loud fan noise, which was really disheartening.

Now I'm back to square one on choosing a PSU for a new build. I'll be using a GeForce 560 Ti with a 2500k OC'd to ~4GHz for quite some time, but I would really like to keep myself future proofed for a same level card 3 or 4 years down the road if feasible.

One alternative I found was the Antec ECO 620C. No complaints of fan noise and quiet listed as a PRO. Thoughts on this and other alternatives would be greatly appreciated.

that's b/c SeaSonic is the ODM of the Antec Neo Eco 620C (it is essentially a SeaSonic S12II 620), who's fan is for the most part inaudible until power draw becomes significant and it spins up a bit. and even then its fan is not nearly as loud as the TX650v2's fan, which is audible all the time no matter the power draw.

i'm in a similar situation as you, only i already bought the TX650v2 and found out the hard way. i've since replaced it w/ the SeaSonic S12II 620, and i'm now trying to flip the TX650v2 in the FS/FT forum. don't get me wrong, the TX650v2 is a very high-quality, reliable PSU...its just that the fan is a bit on the noisy side. most people don't mind this b/c most people are gaming w/ video cards that sound like vacuum cleaners and drown out the noise of the TX650v2 anyways...but if you're like me and require an quiet or inaudible system, the TX650v2 just won't do...

OP, the above testimony proves just how subjective "noise" can be. what may be too loud for one person very well may be perfectly acceptable to others.

I just bought a Seasonic X-560. Gold rated and more expensive than the Bronze rated power supplies, but seems to be worth it according to the reviews I looked over prior to buying it. Very underrated power-wise, stable, quiet (fan doesn't spin until demand calls for it), well made, five year warranty.

If that's out of your budget the Seasonic M12II 620 Bronze is also well reviewed and how quiet it is is mentioned:

Just finished ordering parts for my build and agonized too long over the motherboard and psu. I finally upped the budget and picked up the SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold. I decided I couldn't afford to skimp here. Peace of mind is worth the extra $40 ($140 on NE).

As another owner of X650, I think you'll be very happy with it. I bought it to make my PC as silent as possible. The fan only ever spins up in power hungry benchmarks with the system in my sig. It's not the most affordable PSU and for most people not worth the price but for people who value silence it's really second to none.

i'll +1 this...

despite my recommendation for the SeaSonic S12II 620 and the Antec NEO ECO 620C (the former of which i use in my work PC), i run a SeaSonic X-650 in one of my crunching rigs and a SeaSonic X-750 in the other. as i mentioned before, the NEO ECO 620C and the S12II 620 are both very quiet PSU's despite the fact that the fans never stop spinning, and they only get audible under appreciable load when the fan speeds up...and still they're not as loud as the TX650v2.

but i can attest to Lehtv's claims - i never hear my X-650 or my X-750. in fact, i'd go so far as to say that SeaSonic's "X" series PSUs are second to none in more than just the silence department - i'd say they're second to none in build quality and reliability as well. perhaps the only category that they don't run away with is the price-to-performance category...and the only PSU's to win in that category are probably other SeaSonic (or SeaSonic-built) units that sell for less but don't sacrifice quality. even under appreciable load (which, on a computer devoted to both CPU and GPU crunching probably loads the PSU more than any benchmark or game), they're extremely quiet. sooner or later i'll be adding a GPU to one or both of my crunching rigs, so it should be interesting how much the fans spin up and how much extra noise they make...i'm fairly confident that they'll hardly make any more noise than they do now...which is virtually silent.

The NEO ECO is fantastic and I highly recommend it. It is a very quiet PSU. However it is non-modular.

Get a modular PSU.

The Seasonic M12II is basically a modular Neo Eco

After consideration, I'm 90% sure I'm goingto pull the trigger on the Seasonic M12II. It's $20 more than the S12, but given that I'm not going to be using a ton of components in my initial build. (1 SSD, 1 GFX Card, 1 Optical Drive)

I'll probably hold off until tomorrow ordering in case anyone has any last minute comments or suggestions. Thanks for the help guys, it's been extremely useful.
