Klipsch Promedia 2.1
Swans M200
Refurbed Logitech Z-640
Logitech Z-5300
Logitech Z-2300

Are you looking for something that looks like them or something that's very good sonically and looks secondary?

Looks...? You got to be kidding me; they are the ugliest things I have seen. But if you like the thin, silvery kind of look, I guess I-Trigues usually are nice.

I would suggest the Altec Lansing MX5020s as well if you want a 2.1 setup.

For clarity the $99 Klipsch Promedia 2.0 Ultra is still unbeatable until you drop $400 on an iFi.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1
Swans M200 /buy a subwoofer seperate for these

These two out of the bunch suggested are your best bet.

If you don't mind slight cosmetic imperfections, Klipsch is selling refurbished Klipsch iFis for $199.

At this price, it's an absolute steal...basically more or less lays to waste every 2.1 system you can imagine. (Considering the RSX-3s alone are $300 retail...)

And is $100 cheaper than the MX6021s.

cevilgenius, thank you for correcting me.

Btw, friends don't let friends buy Intel!

Yes. But it also costs a third more. I'm not sure if it's necessarily a third better, but it's pretty close. Having a tweeter is really nice, although the Klipsch in question does buzz a lot from volume changes; but what do you expect for this price point, if you want more sound quality, you're gonna get reduced reliability and noise filters. It's also no longer in production, meaning you are buying mostly from refurbished sources or just old stock.

and iFis...refurb are "only" twice the price of the Z-2300s. I guarrantee they are twice as good.

I-Fi for $200... do it. That is the best deal I have ever heard...

Otherwise, MX5021 is the best in the lower price range other than the M200, which are 2.0. Also note that despite the reviews, the hiss that everyone talks about is inaudible. THe control pod does have some issues, but if you turn the system volume down to about 5-10%, you won't notice it.
