I came || close to signing up on Squirrel's forum today, but I have a hard time signing up for stuff.

This was posited in the forum issues thread. It's solely a technical/PC forum

Just registered here to kinda check things out and test the waters so to speak. I recognize a few names and the place seems pretty chill as long as you follow the rules which are honestly pretty straight forward.

I joined @Red Squirrel Squirrel Forums a while back but dont have any posts. I disabled ad blocker here for this site to help with the bills, hopefully everyone else is doing the same, even clicking on items of genuine interest. 🙂

I like sharing ideas with people, even those I disagree with. I lean left, right and in between depending on the circumstance or topic. Any new place should have the same vibe as this one IMO.

It would be nice if a place had subforums like AT does (hardware, politics, off topic). I am not a fan of Reddit but will use it if there is no other option.

TheFPSReview does, but it's behind a "active member" type wall. All AT members will get a fast track to it as far as I know, but otherwise it just takes some posts to be granted access.

There are other forums beside these 2, outdoors, home & garden, money, tech, music etc. You can read them without registering, but be warned. I'd say 90% of the members are MAGA, and it's a gang bang if you offer an opposing view in politics.

Meh. Some people play the 'both sides' and 'keep an open mind' game, which is bullshit. There's reasonable policy discussion that can be had spanning left to right and every other direction, but I have no patience for magat fuckery. It's just rage fuel. I spend most of my days pissed off as it is. I can't even read tech sites without running into articles about stupid motherfuckers ruining the little bit that's right with the world. Regular news? Forget about it. It's just instance after instance of 'this is how your life got shittier today'. I don't need to hear from amateur fuckwits that are barely qualified to dress themselves.

If I were to go to another forum, I would be there mainly for tech related and fun OT stuff. I would be ok with not having a politics section, though I wouldn't mind having one either, as long as any drama was separated out (though ideally there would be no drama, but that is probably wishful thinking).

I will likely have to check out the FPS forums sometime.

Xstatic1 is the founder/owner of neffers.com forum. Mosh Que Rade is an active forum member there. It's definitely a slower forum but a few friendly people over there.

Yes forum registration is required as lurking is disabled, I might suggest they temporarily re-enable it.

Edit: I just realized Mosh is using my AT avatar over there, the nerve! You'll need to be registered and logged in to view the forum, unless they re-enable lurking.
