Altera PLDT-2 Board programming issues

Hi all

Not sure if anyone here has used an Altera MAX board before, but I'm using them right now in my course, and I'm trying to get it set up to program at home. I'm having some trouble though.

First off, I use Max Plus 10.2 Student Edition to do my programming. I set up my chip in the options (MAX7000S EPM7128SLC84-15) and set up the hardware for ByteblasterMV using LPT1. I purchased a DB25-DB25 cable to connect from LPT1 to my board.

When I go to program, I get "Byteblaster not present, check power and cables" as an error. I have tried changing the LPT1 resources and tried it on my second computer etc, always to the same result.

A couple more things. I am running Windows 98 with all the updates.
The Parallel port works fine for my printer.
I have switched all the port modes in the BIOS.
I can't get this working!!

Hopefully someone here has used this board and can lend me some advice.
