Not a bad little upgrade for somebody looking for cheap 5 piece system.

Yes, the shipping is high but it's still more expensive overall through any vendor listed on Pricewatch. I was looking for a sub-$100 4.1 system, and this fit the bill.

Only on selected items. Read their terms and conditions. PMOD does not qualify for free shipping, unfortunately.

Hey...are These 5.1 speakers? I'm guessing they are not 5.1...but maybe 4.1. If so, are these a good deal for refurbed Labtec speakers?

humm...acutally, they're only $90 - $5 coupon at amazon.com w/ free shipping brand new, and I don't have to pay tax either...with buy.com its:

$50
+$24 shipping
+$04 tax
~$80

wonder what's more woth it...

For $80 you should definitely get something better. If you couldnt get the Creative Inspire 5300s from Walmart for $50 then you can get them plenty of places for $85 shipped or so (pricegrabber.com). For an extra $40-50 you can get the Logitech z560s which are far and away better. For $65 or so you can get the Logitech z540s which I think are better also. This set of speakers definitely isnt worth $75-80

can someone recommend a good 3-speaker set for under $50 ?
I can't seem to find any good reviews for a 3-speaker set on the net.....i guess they aren't so hot anymore.

mucho gracias

Gordita, try the Logitech® Z-340, nice speakers for the price. Newegg has em along with staples, officemax, etc.

Gordita,

I've also heard that that Logitech Z-340's are quite good. If you want to get in for much less than the $50, you should take a look at the Altec ACS300's. They normally sell for about $39, but I picked up a set for $9 after rebate. They're a great three-speaker set. The sub has lots of suds and the satellites are very clear. You can "test drive" them at most Best Buys...

Good Luck,

KB

Already received the speakers today :)... INCREDIBLE SQ for a sub-$100 4.1 solution.. these sound a lot better @ home hooked up to the SB Audigy compared to the $19 POS portable CD player most stores use for their demos.. These speakers don't claim to be the Z-560's. They are FAR better than any POS solution Creative has at this price point.
