I was just wondering if anyone here has these, and if so, what do you think? How do they compare to Klipsch ProMedia/Logitech, and have you had any problems? I have an older set of Altec Lansing 2.1s, which sound great for what they are, and this is a possible upgrade.

Thanks!

In my experience Klipsch has always been a better product than altec lansing. I have tested different sets of speakers from both manufacturers, and overall I would say Klipsch all the way. Even the newest of the Altec Lansing speakers cannot seem to match the high output quality of the Klipsch. I currently have the Klipsch 2.1 promedia and they are by far the best multimedia speakers I have ever heard, bested only by the Klipsch 4.1 and 5.1 systems. As for the Logitech THX speakers, I have heard them but have not really had a chance to compare them with the others. Best bet is Klipsch, despite the hefty price tag.

the only bad thing about the 641's that stirred me away was the huge subwoofer that is as tall as my computer... i think it's like a double sub. i went with the logitech which sound great to me... and it was the same price as the altecs. so it was a good deal, you can find the logitechs online for rather cheap... just make sure to pair whichever speakers with a good sound card... my 2 cents

I've had 641's for several months. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. That is if you have room for them, they are quite large.

They are MUCH better than the Logitech z-560's at reproducing music; for games, where sonic accuracy is not needed, who cares?

To my ears the Klipsch speakers are WAY too screechy sounding, and super expensive as well.
