Altec Lansing 5.1 Speakers (ALC 251); any good?

I've got $92.00 in MSN dollars and I was looking at some speakers to replace my Altec ATP3's. CircuitCity.com has these for $99.99 with free shipping. Are these speakers any good and do you know of any reviews of them?

I don't know of any reviews....but I have a set of them. I think they are just fine for the price. You get your 5.1 surround with an extra speaker stand designed for the center channel if it is mounted up high (it actaully points it downwards). Great speakers for the price.

I generally place Altec Lansing above Creative and Logitech above either of them. (Of course, no one can touch Boston 😉)

What about the Altec ALC 251's? They are $99. The reviews for these look pretty good.

OK, I've looked at about 7 reviews around the web and all of them (with the exception of Avault) says that they are kickass and a must have for this price. I'm going to order them as soon as CircuitCity.com comes back online. They have a little note up saying that you can't checkout between 4AM and 7AM EST. DOH!🙁

I was looking at the altec speakers before and am now stuck between the videologic and the altec. They are both around the same price range, with great reviews, but which one of em edges it?

I just picked them up and got them installed. WOW is all I can say 😛
