Our saving grace truly is that the far-right is made up of the dumbest individuals alive.

Right-wing activist Laura Loomer reportedly jumped the fence around House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's California house on Monday and set up a tent to protest, according to a Daily Beast reporter.
The reporter, Will Sommer, tweeted at around 3 p.m. EST: "Laura Loomer has walked off the stream, on her way to Pelosi's house. One of her crew is claiming that it's legal to jump the fence because there were no 'no-trespassing' signs. I don't know about that!"
"One of Loomer's pals is urging viewers to come and ask for 'sanctuary' at Pelosi's house. He claims they'll be allowed to stay and won't get in legal trouble because 'we're not antifa.' Hmm!" he continued.
"Now Laura Loomer is back and saying she tried to open the doors to Pelosi's house, but they were locked. This seems like an unwise thing to be admitting!"
Sommer tweeted at 3:23 that police had arrived. Around 4 p.m. EST, he wrote that Loomer was removed from Pelosi's lawn by the authorities but not arrested.
Loomer reportedly said that some people with her were undocumented immigrants.

It’s been said in other threads but the idea that the wall is flawless is a misguided one and no one is arguing that. It’s simply one piece of the puzzle, e verification with teeth and actually enforcing it and doing checks is another (imo more crucial one), and other things like tech etc. You won’t find a conservative out there that argues no one can find a way over or under it, but to argue it’s completely ineffective at deterring and preventing illegal migration is false.

It might stop one person. Think of the children. That's the best justification, that line of thinking. An environmental disaster, waste of money, coupled with giving in to a blackmailer makes not one dollar given the best choice.

Don't negotiate with Terrorist Trump, who is holding the government hostage.

It will stop/deter far more than one person and anyone honest with theirselfs will admit that. The left isn’t winning anyone over that is iffy in the subject when they aren’t honest with the arguements like that. It’s not going to prevent everyone, but any rational person will admit that it deters far more than one.

It is 99% ineffective. People smugglers will obviously cut a path through. I'm all for you folks implementing and strictly enforcing E-Verify but a wall is sheer stupidity.

How many? What evidence do you have (not feels) to support your claim?

And 72% of statistics are made up on the spot. There are ways to defeat it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t serve a purpose. Israel’s wall has been a success, how can that be.

Because they have soldiers who shoot to kill stationed every couple hundred meters, and their wall is 450 miles wide. The U.S. border with Mexico is 2,000 miles long. Comparing the two is ridiculous.

Voted for Trump to burn it all down. Wants wall to pertekt Murricuh from icky brown migrants who are obviously trying to... burn down Murricuh.

If they're as bad as your hero suggests, you could just let them do the burning for you.

Someone jumped over a wall, conclusive proof that walls don't work.
Armed with this new knowledge we can move forward with removing these useless contrivances wherever we find them. Prisons, military bases, power plants, electric train right of ways, construction sites. Think of the money this country is going to save by never erecting a barrier again.

I don't think many really think that walls don't work. It is more of a question of effectiveness versus cost. It does not seem that the cost of the wall, both economically and politically, is worth what we will get from it. What many are forgetting is that we already have fencing up that does probably 80% of what a wall would do, so do we really want this huge cost, shutting down the government and using imminent domain to take land, plus 70+ billion dollars to get that last 20%? Why not put our money and political capital towards measures we all agree would have a better ROI like e-verify and stronger laws and enforcement against those that employee undocumented workers?

Of course a wall by itself doesn't work. I"m sure there are morons out there that don't get this, but hopefully not too many.

You need people manning it, sensors etc. Which begs the question: if you have those things, why build a giant wall? You could argue a fence, or even nothing, is just as effective as long as you have guards there.

Which begs the further question: let's say a fence, or nothing, with patrols is 80% as effective as the giant wall. Is the ROI of that extra 20% worth the cost? Obviously I'm making up percentages here, this is the kind of thing that should be part of the discussion.

And of course most illegals don't come in where the wall would go *handwaves away pesky details*

As we've seen on this forum, people can't even agree on the "cost" of illegal immigrants in the first place, or whether there is a crisis or not. What's the point in debating the Wall when you can't even agree on the nature of the problem you are trying to solve? That right there is why I oppose it. It's a solution without a defined problem, or at least defined to my satisfaction. Others seem quite convinced of the menace to our way of life.

Sometimes things are just funny. This is one of them. Relax and laugh at the lady marching around with the tent!

And could you guess? Loomer just won the GOP primary for Florida's 21st District.

In keeping with the republican party fully embracing the crazy.

And of course. It's Florida, and it's 2020.

I'm surprised none of the Bundy whackadoodles have been elected to anyting.

This comment looks so hilarious now!!

I’ll fix it for you:

Laura Loomer is the type of moron that the other Nazis look at and say "Can you please represent us?!”.

It’s ok though, I heard that real leaders can work with people like this.

She beat this guy

and these 2 people.
Scanlan is an Air Force veteran who also spent more than two decades working for the Jupiter Police Department. He opposes defunding the police and told the Palm Beach Post his top three issues are clean water, protecting seniors and lowering prescription drug prices.

Vilardi is a former IRS criminal investigator who has made reforms within that agency a pillar of his campaign.

People like Looner is what you can expect our of the Republican party for a the next 10 years.
Trump has normalized the stupidity that the Tea Party movement introduced into the mainstream.
