Can anyone tell me what on earth this please?
Does it replace alt+m? Should it be ctrl+home?
Either way what is the hoe part?

Thank you

What is the program? What is the context? Combo keystrokes vary by application.

In IE, Alt+Home puts me back to my home page from here. Alt+M drops down a home page choice menu. Ctrl+Home puts me at the top of the thread. Ctrl+End puts me at the bottom. All that is within IE.

Yes, beg your problem. I am referring to IE9. When I pressed alt+m in IE8 it took me to my home page. So what has chenged for it not to do so in IE9.

Agree. The best forum is probably Software for Windows. OTH, I just tried it in IE9, and Alt+Home puts me back on my home page - but with a slight delay.

He means 'wrong forum to be looking for a hoe'...

That would be gardening, no?

(1) Can anyone tell me what on earth this please?
(2) Does it replace alt+m? (3) Should it be ctrl+home?
(4) Either way what is the home part?

1. Alt+Home is used in a browser to return you to your Home Page.

2. No.

3. No. Ctrl+Home takes you to the beginning of a document or file.

4. Home is relative to where you are and in what app.

I am clearly not asking this question correctly.

What is HOME. I see not button or anyindication to what home is.
I want it to take me to my home page.

The HOME button is the key on the right side of the backspace button.

Like RoConno says, on a Dell Inspiron 1525, the Home button is the one that says "HOME" on it. It is to the right of the BACKSPACE button, above the PAGE UP button, and below the DELETE button- which is the button in the most upper right corner. It is marked "HOME".

As to what happens when you press the Home key, that varies with the application. It can be determined by either referring to the application's manual, or by actually pressing the button and observing the result. It should be noted that the Home key can be used in conjunction with other keys for different effects- ie Control + Home.

And, there are some variances in keyboards. This is a typical Logitech KB. Home is directly above the up arrow key. The End key is right below Home. Laptops will be different.

And here it is on my laptop keyboard . . .

Within a document, Home takes you to the beginning of the line of text. Ctrl+Home takes you to the beginning of the document.

Perhaps you should consider a basic computer course?

How do i mark this as solved? Please?

You don't. Just say thanks, I got it, and people quit responding. Either that, or the thread takes off on a tangent, and stays alive. Either way, it's no worry ;^)
