I can't seem to find any studies showing average life expectancy for marijuana users rising when used at any amount.

Yet the vast majority of studies on alcohol use show that moderate drinkers live longer than abstainers and heavy drinkers.

So I would say, no, marijuana use is not better for you than moderate alcohol consumption.
